RICHMOND HILL, GA (WTOC)- The Coastal Georgia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure handed out funding Wednesday at their grant awards luncheon. Medical organizations like the Heart and Hands Medical Clinic in Bulloch County received funds that will be used for a women's breast health awareness initiative.

Skechers to pay $40 million to customers for Shape-Up Shoes false claims

ATLANTA (WTOC) - Skechers is going to pay up for it's shape-ups. The government says Skecher's claims that the Shape-Up fitness shoes can help shed pounds and tone muscles are sketchy at best. 
 
The footwear company will pay $40 million to settle charges by the Federal Trade Commission that Skechers made unfounded claims that its Shape-ups shoes would help people lose weight and strengthen their butt, leg and stomach muscles.

AAA releases Memorial Day travel outlook

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The summer travel season kicks off Memorial Day weekend, and AAA expects a slight increase in traffic compared to last year.

AAA predicts more than 30 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles this Memorial Day weekend. Those numbers are up a little more than one percent from 2011, but in Georgia, the outlook is a little better.
